Vazgen Mikaeli Manukyan (February 13, 1946, Yerevan, Armenian SSR, USSR), Armenian national, state, political figure. The first Prime Minister of the Third Republic of Armenia, former Minister of Defense of Armenia during the Artsakh war in 1992-1993. Member of the Co-Founding Committee of the Karabakh Committee since February 1988, and Coordinator of the Karabakh Committee since June 1988 [1] [2]. 1988 He was arrested on December 10, 1945, along with other members of the Karabakh Committee, and spent six months in Moscow’s Matroskaya Tishina Prison. In 1990-1995 he was a deputy of the Supreme Council of Armenia, in 1995-2007 – a deputy of the RA National Assembly. In 1991, together with the active participants and supporters of the movement, he initiated the establishment of the National Democratic Union (NDU) party.
